Access to Sage Journals Is Changing

Collections_brand Beginning July 1, our seven Sage journal collections — Communication, Education, Health Sciences, Management, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology — will not add any new content. Only content from 2006 to June 30, 2009, will be available full text.

Two journals, Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, will be subscribed to individually beginning July 1.

15,000 e-books added!

Click SpringerLink into the site. Then click the Books link under “content type.” Every title with a green square before the number is available for use.  Additional 2009 imprints will be added as soon as they are published. We’ll get records into CUNY+ for each title as fast as CUNY Central can load them.

Sci-Tech Database of the Month

2718Engineering Village is the electronic version of Compendex, the premier database for engineering and technology, indexing over 5,000 magazines and journals, plus hundreds of scholarly and professional conferences.  Coverage ranges from 1969 – present.  While Compendex is not a full text database – its primary purpose is to serve as a searchable index of the engineering literature – all of the entries include links to the full text if available.  Also included in Engineering Village is Referex, a full text collection of several hundred engineering reference books.  Click on the Engineering Village logo to search this database.

Architecture Library Move Delayed!

house_moving While the Architecture Library staff was packed and ready to move, the new home of the Spitzer School of Architecture turned out not to be ready for occupancy.  The Architecture Library will remain open Mondays through Thursdays, 10 AM to 5 PM, in Shepard 408. To keep everyone up to date on the status of the move, a new ‘ssamoves’ blog has been set up.  Check it for the latest information.
