Business Svideo_cameraource Complete, from EBSCO, now includes a series of 55 videos from the Harvard Business School Faculty Seminar Series. Explore topics such as “Can Complex Organizations Learn?” “Jumpstarting Entrepreneurial Innovation,” or “Strategic Agility: Managing Continuous Change” from renowned professors and experts at the Harvard Business School. All lectures are captured from executive education programs, and offer groundbreaking ideas, insightful research, and practical advice on management issues.

The videos contain a table of content allowing the selection of a specific topic. Most lectures provide a transcript in PDF format.

E-Book Collection Surpasses 74,000 Titles

With the addition of 1,016 Oxford University Press titles and the 258-title Cambridge University Histories Series, our collection of e-books has now exceeded the 74,000 mark. Access to these new collections, until the records are uploaded into CUNY+, is through our Articles via Databases page (select Cambridge Histories Online or Oxford Scholarship Online).

The Oxford plogoackage includes all books published in the last three years by Oxford University Press in Political Science, Economics, Religion, and Philosophy, augmenting earlier e-book purchases in those subject areas. In addition, we have now added the Psychology and History collections.

cambridge-shieldThe Cambridge collection makes available the complete Histories Series which covers a wide range of subjects including American history, British history, economic history, general history, history of science, history of the book, and the history of language and linguistics. Examples of some of the titles in this series include, among others:

  • Cambridge History of Africa (8 vols.)
  • Cambridge History of Latin America (12 vols.)
  • Cambridge History of Literary Criticism (8 vols.)

New Exhibit: The Cold War

Nuclear Bomb Shelter The Cold War: Two Superpowers & Their Spheres-of-Influence is on view in the Cohen Library Atrium now through December 23. In November 1989 the Berlin Wall fell, symbolizing the fall of Communism. Reflecting on the 20th anniversary of that historic event, this exhibit examines the actions of the U.S. and Soviet Union from 1946 through 1991.

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and its affiliates publish hundreds of journals, magazines, newsletters, and conference proceedings. The site includes both scholarly, peer-reviewed material and more news-related magazine articles. The range of coverage is the late 1950s – present. Since computer technology is used in virtually all disciplines, many potentially useful articles on subjects other than computer science are available through this database.
