Filed under: News — Tags: — pam @ 1:43 pm

Today, we have upgraded our ILL service by migrating to the ILLiad product that is directly linked to WorldCat. When you click on our request page for the first time, you are a new user, so please click the “First Time User” link to set up your account. Once that’s done, you’ll log in with your user name and password. A CCNY email address is required to use ILL services, so make sure you have activated yours. For information about using ILL services, please see our Interlibrary Loan Services (ILL) page.

Helena Marvin (top) has been appointed Government Documents & Serials Librarian (substitute) through August 31. She is a December 2009 MLS graduate of the Queens College School of Library & Information Studies. She is also a 2008 CCNY/Macaulay Honors College graduate.  During her undergrad days she spent the summer of 2005 doing tech support for the libraries.
Emma Curtis (bottom), also a December 2009 MLS graduate of Queens College, has joined us as part-time Cataloging & Metadata Librarian.  Emma is also no stranger to us, having worked as an intern in Archives & Special Collections during library school helping to create the Free Academy Digital Collection, now mounted on the CUNY dSpace area for CCNY.

BookScan Station Available

Cohen Library has added a walk-up book scanning station to allow everyone to insert their own USB flash drive to scan and convert book pages, journal articles and individual documents into PDFs, Word or Excel files. Find the BookScan Station on the 2nd floor in the Reference computer area.  A second station will soon be available in the Science/Engineering Library.  These new units were made possible by Student Tech Fee funding. And remember, if you don’t have a USB drive, you can purchase one at any Library circulation counter.
