Noise…

Filed under: Facilities — Tags: — pam @ 6:03 pm

Complaints about noisy users in Cohen library have escalated in recent days.  Let’s try to respect everyone’s right to study without interference, especially during finals.

Remember:

Until 11 p.m., floors 3 through 5 are quiet study floors.

From 11 p.m. until 8 a.m., floor 1 is the place for quiet study.

What we’ve heard from our library colleagues at other institutions is that the most effective resolution to noise in the library is when students self-police and police their fellow students. When asked to hold down the noise, most students will politely comply, and we hope that holds true here at CCNY as well. Happy studying!

Minister in the (Library) House!

Filed under: News — Tags: — pam @ 5:11 pm

Stressed from studying? Freaked by finals? Need to talk to someone?  Campus Minister Gregory Pope is available to listen to your concerns here in Cohen Library.  Thursday, December 16th, from 5 p.m. until around 8 p.m., you can find him in the 3rd floor elevator lobby seating area.  Don’t let the end-of-semester crush get to you. Come, talk, de-stress!
