JobNow provides you with practical tools such as a resume builder, interview coaching and an adult learning center to prepare you for your job hunt. It also lists available positions by type and area, although “area” is very loosely defined. For example the search: retail jobs in 10031 found 11,120 listings, but it considers Elmhurst and Jersey City part of the area. Is that perfect job out there waiting for you? Try it and see…

Exhibit Opening Reception Sept. 12

The opening reception for CCNY – An Era Sketched in Time: The Drawings of Marvin Gettleman, Class of 1957 will be in the Cohen Library Archives, Monday, September 12 at 5:30 p.m. 31 drawings depict life at City College in the 1950s, and feature noted faculty such as Philosophy Professor K.D. Irani and History Professor J. Alexis Fenton along with portrayals of students focused on their studies, events of the era, and students relaxing on the lawns of the South Campus. Mr. Gettleman, a noted historian, will offer brief remarks and some on-the-spot sketches. Refreshments will be served.

JSTOR Site Maintenance

On Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10, JSTOR will be performing site maintenance that requires a “read-only” period for these two days. During this time, you will be able to search, browse, and access and download PDF files for content in JSTOR. You will not be able to save citations, reset passwords,  or create or update MyJSTOR accounts. Please feel free to contact support@jstor.org with any questions.

The LibX Toolbar in Google Chrome

The updated CCNY LibX Toolbar will refresh when you click the “change edition” option in the toolbar and re-enter “CCNY Libraries.” Then re-select the edition.  The way to tell you have the latest version is to look at the Databases A to Z link, which should look like the picture in the August 23rd blog post.
